It has been a while since Bill O’Reilly was fired from Fox News but that does not mean conservatives are not still feeling the consequences of the move. Many were devastated to see the man that they trusted leave the airways. And it was also the way he departed that left a bad taste in their mouths. We are getting more and more details on the departure of the once uber-popular political commentator. He left a whole at Fox News that is yet to be filled. Now, Megyn Kelly tries to explain why she left.
Megyn Kelly explained that one of the reasons she left was because of the way she felt she was treated after her book came out. She pointed at sexual harassment claims against Roger Ailes that did not go over well with the network. Since then, a lot has happened at Fox and we are just now seeing the full extent of her actions.
Bill O’Reilly tried to protect Fox from the allegations.
“I’m not interested in basically litigating something that is finished that makes my network look bad, OK? I’m not interested in making my network look bad at all. That doesn’t interest me one bit,” O’Reilly said. He went on to explain that he was “trying to stay out of any of that kind of stuff.”
“It’s open season, let’s whack the Fox News Channel,” he continued. “I’ve had enough of it. It’s a good place to work, all right? We do good work, honest work there. So I’m not going to buy into, ‘Let’s use the Fox News Channel as a piñata.’ I don’t think it is right.”
Against the allegations from Kelly, Bill O’Reilly famously said, “If you don’t like what’s happening in the workplace, go to human resources or leave.”
What do you think about this?
